The online classes are designed to compliment the lessons contained in the app and the book and to reinforce the language patterns taught in each module. The classes are recorded “live” and students participate in the classes through a Zoom link which is emailed to them. Students use this login to join the online classes, each week, for 6 weeks, per semester.
The advantage of learning through the online classes is that students can interact with the tutor and other students, receive feedback about assessments and ask questions regarding the Māori language. Most importantly students get to practice and improve their Māori language proficiency in a safe and supportive learning environment.
For additional support Reo Ora offers an optional, private Facebook group. This exclusive page is for VIP students only, where they can watch replays of previous lessons online and complete group exercises through Facebook. Each online class is recorded and sent to the student via Drop Box. There are only 40 spaces available per semester for Māori 101 or Māori 102. Our next intake for Māori 101 begins on September 8, 2020. We accept registrations on a “first-in, first-serve basis”. If our September to December 2020 classes are full, we can “wait list” you for the following semester which begins in February 2021 with a 50% discount on the VIP Package and extend your login to the app for a further 14 weeks.
