Dr Wiri, a former Māori language professor discusses the fall and rise of the Māori language in New Zealand history how new digital tools have helped revive his language from near extinction and how these tools can help endangered languages around the world.

Rāpata Wiri is an author, respected Māori scholar, and founder of Reo Ora, the leading online platform for Māori language learning. He has contributed significantly to Māori language revitalisation through education, research, and cultural advocacy. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organised by a local community.
